Bowlers failed to execute plan: Mahela Jayawardene

GUWAHATI: Despite having clear plans in place for rival openers Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Mumbai Indians were let down by poor execution in their game against Rajasthan. “We had some plans but we didn’t execute them the way we wanted,” MI coach Mahela Jayawardene said.

“The margins are very small, these guys are batting really well and we knew the dangers. The first four-five overs were crucial. We missed our lengths and lines.”MI skipper Hardik Pandya added: “We did not execute the deliveries we were supposed to. Bowlers need to take responsibility. As a bowling group, we were not up to the mark,” said Pandya.”
